About Me
Electronics Engineer turned full-stack innovator, bridging hardware and software to create the future of immersive technology.
My Journey
I'm Muhammad Hazimi Bin Yusri, a Malaysian Electronics Engineering student at the University of Southampton, passionate about pushing the boundaries where hardware meets software. With a predicted First Class Honours and a Graduate visa valid until 2027, I bring both academic excellence and practical innovation to every project.
My journey began with curiosity – taking apart electronics as a child in Malaysia, achieving 9 A+ in SPM and 3 A* in A Levels. This curiosity evolved into expertise through hands-on research at Southampton, where I've led groundbreaking projects from social robotics to VR scene reconstruction.
What sets me apart is my cross-disciplinary approach. Whether I'm implementing LLM-powered robots, developing spatial audio VR applications, or designing medical EMG control systems, I see the bigger picture – how technology can transform human experiences and solve real-world problems.
Research & Innovation
As a Research Assistant at Southampton (June-August 2024), I refined ML pipelines for scene reconstruction, adapted EdgeNet360 for 360° image processing, and implemented VR scene rendering in Unity with spatial audio. This work directly contributed to my Group Design Project, where I led technical development of an Audio-Visual VR Scene Reproduction application.
My approach combines academic rigor with practical innovation. From achieving 72% accuracy in EMG-based finger movement classification to optimizing accelerometer interface circuits by 56.4%, I don't just build – I iterate, measure, and improve until the solution exceeds expectations.
Modern Development Philosophy
AI-Assisted Development
Proficient with Claude Code and modern AI tools, I leverage intelligent assistance to accelerate development while maintaining code quality and innovation.
DevContainers & CI/CD
I champion reproducible development environments and automated deployment pipelines, ensuring consistent results from local development to production.
Full-Stack Innovation
From Raspberry Pi hardware integration to cloud deployment on Cloudflare, I architect complete solutions that scale from prototype to production.
Open Source Contributor
Active on Southampton GitLab with comprehensive project documentation, demo videos, and open-source contributions that benefit the broader community.
Beyond the Code
When I'm not building robots or coding VR experiences, you'll find me flying FPV drones, managing my 20TB home media server with 3D movie streaming to VR headsets, or experimenting with new technologies like ComfyUI for AI image generation and N8N for workflow automation.
I document my journey through two YouTube channels – one for technical project demonstrations and another for personal vlogs featuring drone footage. This content creation has taught me the importance of clear communication and visual storytelling in technical fields.
As an international student who achieved academic excellence while building a diverse project portfolio, I understand the value of persistence, adaptability, and continuous learning in our rapidly evolving tech landscape.
